Cleaning Out My Closet Part 1

I told you in my last post that I was pretty much drowning in clothes and that I was goining to offer some for sale/giveaway on here. So this is the first batch of items, there will be plenty more to come.

First up these fab woven blue 60s/70s trousers by 'Shapely'. Bought these from the US, via Etsy but they don't fit me properly, so they need a new home. They have a side zip and the waist is 29", rise is 12", inside leg is 29", bottom hem 11". These are £12.

SOLD
Next are these 70s 'Gear by Maxbro' purple cotton jeans. An ebay purchase, again didn't fit properly. Waist is 30", rise is 14", inside leg is 28", bottom hem is "10. These are £10.

These are new/old cords by 'Night Train', have shop label attached. They're supposed to be original 70s, but personally I think they're repro. Anyway, the measurements are: waist 31", rise 11.5", inside leg 36", bottom hem 10". These are £10.

Somewhat risque, these will appeal to the exhibitionist (though the less brave could wear leggings underneath)! Unlined synthetic lace. Waist 30", rise 11.5", inside leg 27", bottom hem 12.5". These are £8.

SO wish these fitted me! Handmade cotton twill 70s flares. Waist 30", rise 9", inside leg 29", bottom hem 15". These are £10.

 SOLD
Gorgeous 80s 'Shelana - London' tapered leg jumpsuit, would look wonderful on someone else. Viscose with a slight crinkle. Waist approx 31" (back elasticated, so some give to it), shoulder to crutch 32", inside leg 27", bottom hem 10". This is £12.

SOLD
90s St Michael cotton jersey playsuit. Gorgeous colours, but just doesn't look right on me. Waist 24" - 32" ish (elasticated), shoulder to crutch 32", inside leg approx 6". This is £10.

If you'd like to buy anything here, please contact me via email (on my profile page). Postage will be based on total weight and I'm happy to post internationally.

If you've not seen anything you fancy this time, please keep an eye out as there's lots more to come!

Bloglovin'

I'll be honest, I'm starting to feel like a complete Luddite these days - Twitter has no appeal, Facebook is a distraction I can live without and now is seems Google friend connect is heading the way of the dodo on July the 1st. As much as I hate being forced into it, you can follow me Bloglovin' if you want to.

You Said I Was Cheap, You Were The Sale Of The Century

Hello peeps!

Absent again, but I have at last got some useful things done. We've had a child-free weekend (hooray!), although the return is imminent as Mr R&B has gone to collect the boys today. Friday I stated making a pair of trousers for myself (well, a muslin at least) and with minor adjustments, they will actually fit (more on those another time). I also had to go out to sort some toddler group paperwork (yawn), but had a quick browse in the charity shops and found some things I'd sort of been looking for (again, that's for another post). Friday night we went to Mr R&Bs' annual professional association dinner (he is chair this year, so was pretty much running the show). A high percentage of boring old f**ts as expected, but a rare chance to dress up and eat some food not cooked by my own hands! Saturday was spent doing more sewing, plus shopping and today I've been sorting out our bedroom as it's looked like an explosion in a jumble sale for the last two weeks.

I came to the realisation the other week that I really do have far more clothes than I could probably wear in a month of Sundays, so some will be finding new homes hopefully. As vintage fairs here are (bizarrely), few and far between and/or beyond my scope, I'll be having a blog sale/giveaway. Some will be free to a good home (just P&P), and others I'll be selling.

I've also got plans to do a car boot sale soon as there's quite a lot of baby things (amongst other stuff) that the boys have grown out of. Mixed feelings about this, but it's got to be done.

Here's Sleeper from 1996 to play you out. Seriously, 17 years ago?!

3 Is The Magic Number

70s faux patchwork dress (£5.50, eBay)

Flaming June! Where did May go? Well, we've been on holiday and JB1 turned 3 last week, at least. He's also now out of nappies during the day, which is a big step to making life a bit easier.

These sorts of tractors are pretty expensive brand new, but I picked this one up via eBay for about half price. Luckily he's young enough not to care that it's pre-loved, and I hope both boys recognise the benefits of second-hand as they get older.

I'm feeling better on a day-to-day basis, but I'm still struggling with a general feeling of not being able to move forward at the moment. Now seems like a good time to look into re-training as I know I'll need to go back to work in a couple of years when the boys are both at school, but no idea what I could do.

I also did a vintage fair at the weekend. Can't say it was a roaring success, but I covered my costs and made a tiny profit, so not a complete waste. Part of the problem was lack of footfall as most of the uni students have left for the summer and they make up a large amount of this fair's customers. I also wondered about putting my prices up a bit for the next fair, if I do it.

Anyway, I'm hoping to catch up with you all shortly, please bear with me!
